SV81 Wicks

SV wicks (specifically the SFC SV 81 Series) are designed for use with ParaSoy wax blends and are highly dependent on the specific fragrance used. They can also work with other waxes, but require rigorous testing. 

Compatible Wax Types

• ParaSoy Blends: The SV 81 Series wick has been specifically developed and optimised to work with ParaSoy Professional Container Wax, a blend that combines the benefits of both paraffin and soy waxes.
• Fragrance-Dependent Compatibility: While primarily intended for ParaSoy, these wicks can be used with other wax types, but their performance is significantly impacted by the fragrance load.
• Easy Burn Fragrances: These may require a smaller wick size.
• Harder Burn Fragrances/High Load: You might need to "upsize" the wick (use a larger size) to achieve a proper melt pool and avoid tunnelling.
• Other Waxes (with caution): They have a high-melting-point paraffin coating for rigidity, and may be used with other waxes provided extensive testing is conducted to ensure an optimal burn.

Usage Considerations

• Rigidity: The high-melting-point paraffin coating gives these cotton wicks a high degree of rigidity, which helps them stand straight during the pouring process.
• Testing is Essential: Suppliers strongly emphasize the need for extensive testing with your specific wax, fragrance oil, and container combination.
• There are no universal rules; you may need to test a size larger and smaller than the recommended starting point.

Container Size: For larger containers, you might achieve a better melt pool by using two smaller SV wicks rather than one large one. 

As with all wicks, testing is essential as wax, dyes, and fragrace type and loads can change required wick.
